God’s supply for you is infinite
I just listened to Joseph Prince speak on ‘God’s supply for all of life’s demands’ (Youtube, 13 Oct, 2013). As I listen, I can literally feel my body and mind relaxing and the stress leaving every part of me. How easy it is for us to focus on the wrong things, and to think that we need to look after ourselves.
How much we need to ‘rest in His everlasting arms’ and recognise that He is looking after us every day and every moment. How much we need to remember that He supplies our every single need – our need for material things like food and clothing, our need for answers to problems at work, our need for time to get everything we need done, and our need for peace when circumstances swirl around us. If we have a need, His supply is ready to meet it.
How many of us wake up in the morning and immediately start thinking about all of the demands that will be made of us that day?
Instead, think about how God’s overflowing grace and power that supplies all that you need to meet the day’s demands.
We’re so busy thinking about all that we have to do (and should do) for others and for God throughout our day – when He wants us to think about all HE has done and all He is ready to do in our day!
The bible says He is mindful of us – ‘What is man that you are mindful of him?’.
What a great thought – God is thinking about me all of the time.
Think about that for a moment. God is thinking about me and what I need ALL OF THE TIME.
I don’t ever have to worry about whether or not I can get his attention or need to interrupt Him during His busy schedule, because He’s not like us. He’s always there, always ready to talk, to listen to our concerns, and to provide all that we need to meet them.
Even more than that, He’s chasing after us with His goodness. Psalm 23 says that ‘SURELY goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life’. Surely His goodness is following you! Surely His mercy is following you! And His grace and ability abounds towards you!
So,
- Rather than thinking of all you have to get done, think of all He has done.
- Rather than thinking of the problems or challenges that will require your solving, think of the Almighty’s wisdom that is available to you whenever you just ask for it (James 1:5)
- Rather than thinking that you can’t cope with the demands everyone is making on you, think about His overflowing, never-running-out supply of ability and favour already available to you.
And today :
Be conscious of His supply, not of life’s demands.
Be conscious of His supply for you, not of His demands of you.
Have an incredible day.
