So on Day #29 of the 30 Day Declutter Challenge, I’ve realised that one pass through the kitchen is not enough – and probably wouldn’t be for you either. So…..One more time through the kitchen to see what else can be cleared out. Above our kitchen cupboards there’s space where we store crockery, platters and jugs that don’t fit in the kitchen cupboards.
Also up there is a ‘chocolate coin maker’ one of my sons really wanted for his birthday – we used it once, and I hated it – it was so fiddly! We’ve never used it again. Out it goes.
I also have a chocolate fountain which we loved – but it’s in need of repair. One of the small parts broke (and you should have seen the chocolate fly at us as it happened while the fountain was on, full of chocolate!). Of course I tried to convince myself that we would get it repaired – but it has sat unused for months and months now. I know that it probably won’t be worth the cost of repair – and so out it goes too.
And then there is the coffee machine, also no longer used. It also takes up a lot of space. It has to go…
So, here’s my challenge for you :
1. Do you have seldom-used or unused appliances, taking up space in your kitchen – that chopper-grinder-mixer you never use, or is old and missing a few parts? let it go!
2. Have you got excess coffee mugs, tea cups or glassware?
3. Do you have duplicate or an excess of peelers, graters or spatulas and serving spoons? Get rid of extras that you don’t need.
4. Have you got the ‘tupperware’ shelf (or shelves) that every household has – with far too many tupperwares to make use of them all, or tupperwares without lids that you ignore? Time to cull them too.
Keep only those things in your kitchen that you actually like, use regularly and that don’t have unnecessary duplicates.
