Do you have designated drawer/cupboard or spot that is for things you use for entertaining – for when friends come round or on special occasions? How’s it looking? Ready for a clear out?
Candles, placemats, runners, tealights, serviettes and serviette rings, cake stands etcetera….most of it I wanted to keep, but old candles and plastic cutlery and other bits helped free up the drawer space, and I put it back so that I can much more easily find what I want in there.
My runners and placemats end up with wax on them after dinner parties – if you also need to remove wax from your tableware, here’s the easiest way to do it according to Martha Stewart (of course) :
“Candles are hard on table linens. Scrape off spilled wax with a dull knife. Put several layers of kraft paper under the linen, then place a sheet of kraft paper on top of stain. Using low heat, iron until wax is drawn into the paper, moving the paper around until all the wax is gone. If an oily spot remains on the linen have the cloth dry-cleaned.” {source: www.marthastewart.com/272775/removing-wax-stains}
